The Assessment Process

Which assessment option is right for me?

I offer two diagnostic assessment options for adults seeking formal identification of Autism and ADHD. Both are conducted online via secure videoconferencing.

Autism & ADHD Assessment + Comprehensive Report

Best for those who require a detailed report or formal documentation.

This option includes a full diagnostic assessment and a comprehensive report (typically 30+ pages) outlining the assessment process, how you meet diagnostic criteria, and results from all assessment tools used—presented in clear language with helpful graphs. Brief, individualised recommendations are also included.

What’s included:

  • A diagnostic interview (up to 3 hours)

  • A feedback session (50 minutes)

  • A full diagnostic report

  • Time spent by the psychologist preparing, scoring, interpreting, and writing

Cost: $2,500

  • $2,000 due when scheduling your diagnostic assessment

  • $500 due when scheduling your feedback session

Prior to our sessions, you’ll receive online assessments and intake forms. These must be returned at least 1–2 weeks before your diagnostic appointment.

Please note: While I always aim to provide high-quality reports, my reports by themselves are not sufficient for the NDIS. The NDIS considers additional factors outside my control, including functional capacity. If your primary goal is NDIS access, another service may be more suitable.

Autism & ADHD Assessment Lite

Best for those seeking clarity without needing formal documentation

This streamlined option provides a formal diagnostic outcome with a two-page summary letter outlining your results and brief recommendations. It is designed for those who want to understand their neurotype but don’t need a full report.

What’s included:

  • A diagnostic interview (up to 3 hours)

  • A summary letter delivered via email

  • Time spent preparing, scoring, interpreting, and writing

Cost: $1,500

  • One-time payment due when scheduling your diagnostic appointment

Like the comprehensive option, you’ll complete pre-assessment forms and online measures ahead of your session. These are required at least 1–2 weeks before your appointment. There is no follow-up session for this service. Please note: my outcome letters are not sufficient to access NDIS funding. If your primary goal is NDIS access, another service may be more suitable.

What to Expect: The Assessment Process

1

Booking Your Assessment

Once you’ve submitted your enquiry, you’ll be placed on a waitlist. When an appointment becomes available, we’ll contact you via email to invite you to schedule your diagnostic session.

Assessment appointments are typically booked 1–3 months in advance. Full payment is required at the time of booking. This is because the assessment process begins well before your session—once scheduled, you’ll receive access to a range of psychological assessments and intake forms that form a critical part of the diagnostic process. These materials are designed to gather essential background information and support a comprehensive understanding of your presentation.

Some forms can be time-consuming, so I recommend setting aside dedicated time to complete them. All documents must be returned at least 1–2 weeks prior to your scheduled appointment.

2

After The Intake Session

Your diagnostic session will take up to 3 hours and is typically experienced as an in-depth, collaborative conversation. I aim to create a space that feels safe, respectful, and affirming—where you are recognised as the expert in your own lived experience.

You bring valuable insight into your history, challenges, and strengths. I bring clinical expertise in Autism and ADHD. Together, we’ll explore your developmental history, social communication style, interests, sensory profile, executive functioning, and current experiences to assess whether your traits align with diagnostic criteria for Autism and/or ADHD.

This session, combined with your intake materials and psychological assessment results, forms the basis of my diagnostic conclusions.

3

Feedback Session- Comprehensive Option Only

If you’ve selected the comprehensive report, we’ll meet again for a 50-minute feedback session approximately 6 weeks after your diagnostic appointment.

During this session, I’ll guide you through your full report, explain your results clearly, and answer any questions you may have.

If you’ve chosen the Lite option, you’ll receive your two-page summary letter via email within 2 weeks of your diagnostic session. No follow-up session is required.

Important Information Before You Book

Please read through the following details carefully to ensure this service is right for you before joining the waitlist.

Current Availability

  • My books are currently full until August 2025.

  • For the remainder of 2025, I will only be offering the Lite assessment option.

  • If you are seeking a Comprehensive assessment, you are welcome to join the waitlist, but spots will not be available until 2026 at the earliest.

All appointments are offered on a first-come, first-served basis according to the date of your enquiry. If you no longer require an assessment, please let me know so your spot can be offered to someone else.

Payment and Scheduling

  • You will be contacted by email when an appointment becomes available.

  • Full payment is required at the time of booking to confirm your assessment.

  • I am unable to hold appointments without payment and do not offer payment plans.

Session Logistics

  • All assessments are conducted via Zoom on Wednesdays or Thursdays during business hours (AEDT).

  • You must be 18 years or older, located within Australia, and have:

    • A stable internet connection

    • Access to a computer with a webcam

    • A quiet, private space for your session

  • I do not provide assessments over the phone or to individuals outside of Australia due to insurance limitations.

Scope of the Service

  • I assess for both Autism and ADHD as standard practice due to high co-occurrence. This is included in the flat fee—there is no extra charge for dual assessment.

  • I provide assessment-only services and do not offer ongoing therapy.

  • I do not prescribe medication. If you are seeking medication following an ADHD diagnosis, you will need to consult with a psychiatrist.

  • I am unable to provide referrals to psychiatrists; you will need to obtain a referral from your GP.

  • I communicate via email only and do not provide phone consultations.

  • This service is not eligible for Medicare or private health rebates.

  • My assessments are not designed for NDIS access. If accessing the NDIS is a priority, I recommend choosing an alternative service who provide NDIS-specific diagnostic assessments and reports.

Crisis Support

Divergent Assessments is not a crisis service. If you are in immediate distress or require urgent support, please contact emergency services by dialling 000 (Australia).
